Rock En Seine 2010, was in disarray: of rain, exciting discoveries, bursts of laughter, lives with breathtaking, rain (again), beer fresh, very fresh lawn over them, the state energy Gross, I know not what magical and apocalyptic at a time ... (And a pair of Repetto damned).
Summary of 3-day festival like no other. Day # 1
Delhiat Evelyn had said ... there would be some showers in Paris (yes. .. of small showers ). And indeed, the rain was very timely. Crossing gates at 2:58 p.m. ... 2:59 p.m., the storm broke. The sky is unleashed, the festival run shelter in makeshift shelters ... and few are brave bravely applaud the American group that opens the festival Minus The Bear . Therefore impossible to comment on what you live for me, I drank a glass of white wine to cover, praying that the sky becomes warmer.
And then, oh miracle a lull. Just in time to discover the group Lille Roken IS Dodelijk that behind the name bleak, hides a sparkling musical and sensitive. Pop a refreshing and refined. A nice moment that will not remain anchored in our memories but still a nice discovery.
It is 4:20 p.m. ET Band of Horses on stage accompanied by a timid ray of sun. The staging is minimalist, but the voice of Benjamin Bridwell enough to carry you far, far away. It is beautiful and pure. Especially when the voices on Is There a Ghost . The festival would take almost mystical allure.
A little later I Kele which made its debut on the Main Stage. Kele Okereke, Bloc Party leader, is here to present his first solo album I had heard very little. Yannis Philippakis opens the way with this cold concentration that characterizes it. The sound is cold, raw, explosive and strangely tinged with melancholy. The pit on a runaway math rock Cassius more than ever, leaving some completely washed out (I am). And suddenly, this occurs when that everybody expected. A moment of pure magic. These were followed by live Beast and The Kooks ... The first conquered me with a few well-chosen pieces, between punk funk and rock. Once live, the pleasure is not really there. The game is basic stage, energy is not ... Briefly, it happens.
As for Kooks despite energy deployed on stage in chains and tubes with the control group than twice their age, the feeling of attending a concert for babes finally kill our motivation. It's time for a beer.
had to wait 21h to see Black Rebel Motorcycle Club onstage. Bereaved following the death of their manager last week of his (and father of bassist) is in an atmosphere more gloomy than they appear and begin a "Beat the Devil's Tattoo" you stir the guts. Following is technically flawless. The throbbing bass, the voice seems to come from the bowels of the earth and a rough sound that good. Live without a surprise but remarkable.

Day # 2
Evelyn had Delhiat repeats well ... few showers to deplore the Paris region. The sky is really angry with us because, just stepped on the lawn of St. Cloud, a pretty little rain falls on us. This time, we do not give up ... on file and listen to electro pop Chew Lips which will also brings back the sun beats reinforcement invigorating. The problem of a festival like Rock en Seine is that we must continually make difficult choices. 3 scenes, hundreds of meters away and frequent concerts scheduled simultaneously for which it should ignore ... And then the choice should be between Stereophonics (oh how nostalgic group of our years container) and Quadricolor , French promising young band. Too bad for the people of Nice, Stereophonics won the prize. And even if we know the recipe by heart, it works every time. See you in shout loudly about "Mr Writer", smiling stupidly "Maybe tomorrow" ... we are happy, people around us are too. And even if Kelly Jones of rock tunes tv series, we love.
5:40 p.m. ... we see the queue Two Door Cinema Club. And then we put everything on the one dares to center stage, the heart of the pit ... short, we know that it will hurt but never mind ... 20h umpteenth round trip on the Main Stage ... to attend the live from the legendary Queens of the Stone Age . Josh Homme is conquered territory. It distills a rock and accurate calibration. Unsurprisingly but built for stadiums. I greatly preferred delivery Eagles of Death Metal in the previous year. Which was much more spicy and had their live offered a show sexy as hell.
wait is also not the end of the live quartet to run reach the stage where electro delusions of James Murphy. And here again, we played the bomber and one dares the front row. The crowd is hot, and it is on the "I'm Not in Love" so romantic scene in the 10CC between LCD Soundsystem.

Day # 3
The last day it will take even more bother to listen to Evelyn Delhiat. Anyway, the rain got a bit our friend throughout the festival.
The festival of Sunday too wear the stigma of a wild night on the eve. And even if the day promises fulfilled, it will certainly calmer. Temper Trap on the Main Stage we wake up gently. The high-pitched voice of Dougy Madag is an ideal companion for the beginning of the afternoon. The gig is properly calibrated, without fail ... and nice
It gets rougher in the middle of the afternoon with excellent Black Angels. Rock feverish and powerful. A minimalist stage play brilliantly served by a dark and hypnotic sounds. A very nice surprise that makes you want to know more about this American group.
A few yards away, will start the live I Am a Dog . Presented as a group " electro rock hysterical ", the least we can say is that indeed the singer of hysteria has it in spades. In any case, we will grow faster towards the Main Stage to watch the magnificent live Beirut.
Again, Zach Condon has taken us very far ... and managed the feat of making up the emotion on stage as gigantic as this one. The audience cheers and it seems almost embarrassed. A moment of grace and poetry. And especially a highlight of the festival. Thank you ... Beirut
A little later on the same stage, it will The Ting Tings that will energize the crowd. Nothing new on their side. A set of dynamic scenery and pop could wish. An army of tubes and an audience hopping.
It is with regret that I decide to skip the concert of the legendary Roxy Music, preferring to make sure a place of choice for the Live Arcade Fire .
So that rise to 22h Canadians on stage gifted. The scenery is stunning and this live will be daunting. St. Cloud looks like a cathedral in the open. And the crowd ends up completely swamped by an incomparable emotion. The voices mingle, runaway strings and the concert is adorned with sumptuous lyricism. And in unison, the audience accompanies the group in its limpid choruses. He only needed the rain ... or rather the storm. And when a rainstorm falling on the audience, it hands raised to heaven that the public welcomes this stormy ovation. But unfortunately, the technique does not get along with moisture ... and it is therefore premature that the live stop for safety. Wake up on a quasi-acoustic and utterly magical, the Canadian group eclipsed so reluctantly ... leaving us with the bitter feeling of having lived under both literally and figuratively a cold shower. But also with the feeling of having shared last night with some 100,000 other festival goers, unforgettable. The Apocalypse by Arcade Fire.
